WHAT WAS INITIALLY A BIG LOSS COULD BE A BIG WIN FOR A GREEN FUTURE NOW THAT CHEVRON IS DEFUNCT! Ruling allows all environmentally progressive groups to go to their local federal judge and sue to overturn policies, procedures, and requirements that favor big industry over the environment.
The Supreme Court's attempt to weaken administrative agencies in favor of big business interests may have been intended to grant more power to polluters. However, according to Michael Popok of Legal AF, this strategy has actually backfired. It has inadvertently empowered socially and environmentally progressive groups to challenge and potentially reverse policies, procedures, and regulations that have historically prioritized industry profits over environmental concerns and the well-being of the planet. The Supreme Court's recent ruling to upend the Chevron deference will likely have a significant impact on the healthcare industry, given the industry's highly regulated nature. This will impact the most vulnerable of our society the elderly!
Between 2021 and 2022, the nation’s Asian population grew by 2.4 percent; the Hispanic population by 1.7 percent; the Black population by 0.9 percent; and the white population by 0.1because they are the oldest population group and the fastest in decline. Legislation that affects the elderly has dire consequences for the birth rates of the most vulnerable populations. The median size of the White population for counties in 2019 was 22,417 people. In 2019, the median age of the White population was 39.5 years, up from 38.4 in 2010. The median age of the White population in the United States reached a record high of 42.9 in 2024!
