Notable Boston Playwright Ada Hubbert Warner Leaves Legacy of Faith Harmony, & Stage Excellence!

Boston is a center for playwrights who are influencing a more equitable arts community. Having a greater number of local writers presenting their work leads to a more authentic representation of our world in theatrical productions. At the age of 84, Mrs. Ada Hubbart Warner, the author of the gospel musical "Abraham," moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee in 2018 to live with her daughter and family. She was a woman of numerous talents and gifts, formerly residing in Boston, Massachusetts. She passed away in February of this year peacefully at home with her loved ones by her side but not before leaving a legacy of self determination and faith in her own innate talents that informed a generation of creatives.

Ada was a formidable presence in giving life to the gospel stories and showcasing the talents of Boston through her poignant and emotive writing. Together with her lifelong friend Vivian Brown, a songwriter, singer, and lyricist, they successfully raised funds and staged the musical "Abraham" on the Boston Stage. This production served as an inspiration for numerous young playwrights, artists, technicians, and musicians in Boston, encouraging them to pursue a career in theatre with a positive and uplifting approach.

Ada's stories resonated well with the current leaning toward maintaining historically truth in the physical representations of the people of the bible. Because truth does matter. Especially in the context of ones faith.
