Mic Theory Artist Climate Activist



Former Music Reviewer For the Bay State Banner Associate Editor of TRUE the national Hip Hop Magazine and Co founder of Hot Stepz Magazine and Art director of High Soaring Millennials Magazine. Michael R. Thierry AKA Mic Theory has through his career inspired many students to achieve excellence and strength to persevere through community build and activism efforts. He is an accomplished fine artist and member of Graphics Artist Guild and Most Notably the Designer of the New England Patriots Logo affectionately called by fans The Flying Elvis Design although originally it was a Hip Hop Styling of his initials MT!.


Michael is a former member of The Dorchester Artists Collaborative, AAMARP, He was also one of the First Artists to work with First Night founder Clara Wainright. As an actor/ performance Artist he has starred in the independent film Ricewood Creek by Director Deborah Shariff who's Documentary about the groundbreaking film will be featured at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, Roxbury Outreach Shakespeare Experience, and the Roxbury Repertory Theatre Company he is an accomplished painter and muralist as well as a Children's bok Illustrator and textbook illustrator/Editor (Nannytucket The Whale, Encounter Theatre As a Means of Social Change By Dr David Coleman).



Michael counts among his mentors Artists Hakim Raquib, Gary Rickson, Dr. David Coleman, Dr. Edward Nimmer Williams, and Contralto, Ruth Hamilton. Some of Michael's paintings are in permanent collections of Harvard University (Jenee's Dream) Roxbury Community College (Mural Student Center "Am I not A Man?", and Portrait of Ossie Davis',Private Collection The Davis family) Michael is The Author of two book series Moriens: The Black Knight Trilogy, and The Voodoo Romance Series "Erzulie's Fire."


He is currently working on his science fiction short story collection "Ishmaels Children" and a collaborative coloring book and prose series of Afro-Caribbean Orishas. Mike has extensive experience as a public outreach and marketing professional working with Dovetail Consulting in the Transportation and publishing industry as well. His Art prints can be purchased at boutiques all over the country and his afrocentric Tee shirt designs were featured in the movie "Mo Money" worn by Marlon Wayans. Michael frequently performs and donates art to raise money for worthy causes such has Hosea Feed The Hungry, New England Organ Donor Bank, GLAAD, Men of Color Task Force, NEHSV, African Meeting House Boston, American Heart and Stroke Association, Greater Boston Sickle cell Disease Association, DJ Third Eye Hip Hop Art Festival.
