Doubting The American Redoubt

The great futility of racial purity attempts, lies in the simple fact that homogeneous populations based on a lack of melanin are basically genetic suicide!

Historically, as well as in modern times, the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho and a portion of Montana) has been proposed by many white supremacists as a location for the establishment of a white ethno-state. This Northwest Territorial Imperative was promoted by Richard Girnt Butler, Robert Jay Mathews, David Lane, and Harold Covington, alongside the white supremacist terrorist organization The Order, the Neo-Nazi Christian Identity organization Aryan Nations, the white power skinhead group Volksfront, and the Northwest Front, among others. The Northwest Territorial Imperative also has loose overlap with the Cascadia independence movement, which also seeks to create an independent republic between the Northwest and parts of Northern California in the United States and British Columbia in Canada. Some in the far-right use the term American Redoubt to describe the migration to the Northwestern United States.

There are 10 States in the US where the population is more than 90% white. Maine tops the nation with 96.9 percent of its population described as white, while 96.7 percent of Vermont and 96 percent of New Hampshire are white. In all, the states which are more than 90 percent white, including the three northern New England states are; West Virginia, Iowa, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Kentucky and North Dakota, and they have two things in common.

First, the largest populations of elderly between 16% and 20% (people over 65), Maine’s relatively small number of older adults represent 23% of its total population, the highest share of older residents in any state. Secondly, the lowest birth rates. Vermont has the lowest birth rate in the United States of 8.7 per 1,000 population. The number of births in the nation may be at a 32-year low, but in 2021 Vermont's 5,431 births was at a 161-year low and will most likely be lower this year.

In 2020, 1 in 11 babies (9.3% of live births) was low birthweight in West Virginia. Iowa's rate of live births per 1,000 population fell to 11.4 in 2020 compared with 11.9 for each of the previous two years, while deaths rose to 11.4 per 1,000 as well, compared with 9.8 in 2019 and 9.1 in 2015. Wyoming's birth rate dropped 7% in 2020,Wyoming has an increasingly aging population, which is only exacerbating with its decreasing birth rate year on year.

Everyday Life in the Redoubt according to survivalist James Wesley Rawles

“The center of the American redoubt movement Idaho has seen a large influx of new homesteaders. The American Redoubt is a political migration movement first proposed in 2011 by survivalist novelist and blogger James Wesley Rawles which designates Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming along with parts of Oregon and Washington, as a safe haven for white conservative Christians. Just like the rest of the country, the population is aging in the Redoubt. The exceptional areas are those with a higher percentage of Amish, Hutterite, Mennonite, Catholic and LDS Church members, since they all tend toward large families. Foreign immigration has impacted the Redoubt far less than the rest of the country. The American Indian population is relatively high, of course especially in the Reservations. The White Anglo Saxon Protestant (WASP) population and culture still predominates. The only significant inroads of Mexican immigration (some legal, some illegal) are in southern Idaho and southeastern Washington (primarily the Tri-Cities.) But the general impression that newcomers get when they arrive here is: “Gosh! Where are all of the immigrants and minorities?” Their profound absence seems almost shocking to folks who are accustomed to the more ethnically diverse and heavily populous coastal states. (One of my new neighbors who was originally from the Midwest attended a local high school basketball game for the first time, and was amazed how overwhelmingly “WASPY” both the team and the attending fans were. He said that “it felt like going to a Lutheran picnic… I’m inviting people with the same outlook to move to the Redoubt States, to effect a demographic solidification. We’re already a majority here. I’d just like to see an even stronger majority.”

As it has been since 2007, the U.S. birth rate is well below what is referred to as "replacement-level fertility," the birth rate a country must maintain to keep population levels stable without immigration. This could prove to be a problem. Though it is difficult to predict the implications with any degree of certainty, an aging and shrinking population could slow economic growth, strain government funding, and lead to worker shortages. In Montana, the birth rate is below the national average. There were 9.7 births for every 1,000 people in the state between July 1, 2020 and July 1, 2021. Montana's birth rate ranks as the ninth lowest among states.

Maybe, Frances Cress Welsing, M.D., general and child psychiatrist (d. 2015) was right after all. According to the Cress Theory of Color-Confrontation and Racism (white supremacy), white people, globally, are afflicted with a condition that she says causes behavior to prevent white genetic annihilation. According to Welsing, the fear of what she called white genetic annihilation, is the driving force behind all of the oppression and brutality that whites commit against people of color. They’re simply afraid that they will go out of existence against the vast majority of the world’s ‘colored’ people. Blacks, because they produce the greatest amount of melanin, are feared the most.

In The South Florida Times Antonia Williams- Gary writes: “The recent formation of a militia of white men in Oregon, organized to take back the land from the government (read Obama), for use by ‘the people.” What people? This is another example of what Dr. Welsing described.

What are they railing against? The horse has left the barn. Demographers have already projected that by 2050, the majority of the USA will be brown. It is undeniably in our faces. Where to run?

The cities? Look at Detroit. It has been abandoned, neglected, and left to rot away from lack of services and a healthy tax base of industry and commerce. That strategy is mirrored all over the country. I say to all the blacks and browns who have a few nickels to rub together to go buy up the cities now before they are re-gentrified (that’s a code word which means to make white-controlled, again). What’s left? The territory left for whites to flee is very small. Hence the Oregon stand-off. Where to next? The Appalachian Mountains?”

Whether you’re a white supremacist, a white nationalist or a member of the “alt-right,” much of your ideology centers around a simple principle: “being white.” The creation of a white ethno-state, populated and controlled by “pure” descendants of white Europeans, ranks high on your priority list. Though the genetics of “whiteness” are not completely understood, the gene variants known to influence skin color are more diluted across the globe than any random spot in the human genome. “That is to say, humans appear, based on our skin pigmentation, to be much more different from each other than we actually are on a genomic level.”

To put this all into context the redoubt is basically about changing demographics. In 1987, Ben Wattenberg, former advisor to President Lyndon B. Johnson published a popular book called The Birth Dearth. The book purports:

“The major problem confronting the United States today is there aren’t enough white babies being born. If we don’t do something about this and do it now, white people will be in the numerical minority and we will no longer be a white man’s land.”

Mr. Wattenberg saw the birth dearth as a solvable problem, and offered three potential solutions. The first was paying American women to have babies. He said this plan was untenable because “we would have to pay women of all colors to have babies.” His second option was to increase our immigration quotas. This was flawed, because most people coming to America are people of color. His third option was the one he thought made the most sense:

The third thing we could do is remember that sixty percent of the fetuses that are aborted every year are white. If we could keep that sixty percent of life alive, that would solve our birth dearth.”

.

While white women were encouraged to have babies, women of color were being forcibly sterilized and having dangerous forms of birth control pushed on them, through the use of financial incentives or time off of prison sentences.

America has spent the last four decades trying to reverse the rushing tide of changing demographics, strategically manipulating reproductive rights and immigration policies to keep America white but it hasn't worked in fact globally white supremacy is failing due to low births.

During the nineties, white abortion rates were reduced by 46%. In 1990, there were just under one million white abortions. By the end of that decade, there were only 484,000 white abortions.

Abortion rates in communities of color also fell, but at nowhere near the rate of white women. Black and Latinx women’s abortion rates fell by 25% and 9%, respectively. The nineties was wild, but the 2010’s were worse. Today, there are twice as many Crisis Pregnancy Centers as Rape Crisis Centers in the United States.

In other words, we can’t afford to let white women have access to abortion, because if we do, America won’t be white anymore. And if America isn’t white anymore, it’s no longer America. Says Steve King U.S. representative from Iowa from 2003 to 2021 thinly paraphrasing White Supremacist leader David Lane’s infamous 14 words: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for White children.”

Yet even the most hardcore racist understands abortion legislation is just not enough to reverse the Birth Dearth.by 2035, the United States will be brown, and no amount of weaponized legislative action is going to stop that outcome. The only choice they feel they have is the redoubt.
